How does it work?
Psycholgenpraktijk Evelien Bakker provides therapy and coaching. After receiving a completed contact form or e-mail, I will contact you to schedule a free of charge screening via the telephone. This screening (maximum of 10 - 15 minutes) is intended for a brief introduction and screening of your problems. From there we will decide together whether my practice sufficiently meets your treatment needs. If so, an intake will be scheduled. During the intake we will further discuss your problems, request for help and together we will arrive at a solution treatment plan either for therapy or coaching. In my practice I offer short-term treatments of 10-15 sessions. During the intake interview we will also assess whether a short-term treatment is feasible. It may happen that I cannot provide you with the care you need, for example because I think that a more intensive or different type of treatment is more appropriate. In that case I can advise you about suitable treatment elsewhere.
Crisis
Psycholgenpraktijk Evelien Bakker does not offer crisis assistance. If there is a crisis situation, you can contact your GP during office hours. Outside office hours you can go to the GP post. In The Hague this is Hadoks: www.hadoks.nl or call 070-3469669.
Prices
The rates I charge are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZA).

*For some forms of treatment, 90 minutes is indicated, such as EMDR. This will be discussed in advance.
Insurance
For 2025 Psychologenpraktijk Evelien Bakker has a contract with OWM Zorgverzekeraar Zorg en Zekerheid UA. This means that the treatment is fully reimbursed and is declared directly to the health insurance. However, you must always pay your own deductible.
For all other health insurers our care falls under uncontracted health care.
After each treatment session you will receive an invoice that you can submit to your health insurer. Depending on your insurance policy, part of the treatment costs may be reimbursed. You will need a letter of referral from your General Practitioner before the intake. It advisable to check with your insurer in advance.
Cancellation
It may happen that you have to cancel our appointment. Failure to give 24 hours notice in advance will result in charging a cancellation fee of €70.
Privacy
Your privacy is of great importance and personal data is handled and secured with care. In addition, as a psychologist I am also ethically bound to protect your privacy. For more information please contact me.

Waiting list:
The waiting time for an intake appointment is a maximum of 2 weeks (last updated: July 2025). After the intake, the average waiting time to start treatment is 2 to 3 months. Occasionally, a spot may become available sooner — if you’re on the waiting list, you’ll be notified.
